Job summary

Woh Hup Group in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Deputy Project Manager to assist the Project Manager in overseeing site works and manpower on the project.

The role involves planning construction programs, coordinating with clients and consultants, managing subcontractors, and ensuring quality and safety on site. A civil engineering degree is required with a strong background in commercial, industrial, and data center projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in commercial, industrial and data center projects is an advantage.
• Minimally completed 1 cycle of project.

Responsibilities

• Prepare master construction program and catch-up program, if applicable.
• Plan for site access during different stages of work and tower crane location erection & dismantling.
• Resolve drawing discrepancies prior to the commencement of work and settle drawing issues with the technical team & consultants.
• Work out prelims, budgeting, and monitor cost reports.
• Manage subcontractors and plan progress for all works on site.
• Be involved in planning all works on site, including programme schedules, construction methods, forecasting equipment, material and manpower requirements, and controlling usage and wastages.
• Communicate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
• Oversee quality control and health & safety matters on site.
• Adhere to safety practices in the workplace.
