Job summary

Marriott International is seeking a Kitchen Cook for our Ilham Tower site in Kuala Lumpur. You will prepare meals, regulate oven temperatures, thaw ingredients, and ensure proper portions, presentation, and garnish, while maintaining accurate food logs and upholding quality standards.

In this non-management role, you assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching staff; follow all safety policies; protect company assets; and communicate menu specials to service staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Maintain food logs and monitor quality and quantity of food that is prepared.
• Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
