Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN BHD, based in Bukit Minyak, Penang, is hiring a Debug Engineer to support our electronics manufacturing teams. You will diagnose and resolve complex RF, analog and digital circuit issues, and drive improvements in FPY and first-pass yield.

You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, develop SOPs, prepare FA cookbooks and weekly reports, and collaborate with cross-functional groups including Sustenance to reduce false failures and escalate issues

Qualifications

• Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of proven working experience as a Debug Engineer or in a similar role.
• Good Debug trouble-shooting knowledge in RF, Analog, Digital and DC instruments.
• Extensive knowledge of electronic circuit design, embedded systems, and software debugging.
• Proficiency in using debug tools and techniques, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging software.
• Experience in PCBA Failure Analysis on failed units and customer returns.

Responsibilities

• Create and follow SOPs for team responsibilities related 5S, Spares, False failure reduction, FPY improvement, Escalation, Supplier support, Production plan execution.
• Ensure the overall Debug clearance plan is executed in a timely manner.
• Evaluate and configure digital circuits using FPGA and BGA.
• Resolve failures from point of origin / point of detection.
• Lead, train and guide the team of technicians, Sr Technicians, AEs & Engineers.
• Prepare FA cookbook for future reference and weekly FA reports (WIP).
• Compile FA reports as per customer requests.
• Lead projects related to product yield improvement and scrap reduction.
• Regularly review debug clearance plans and top 10 failure reduction KPIs.
• Ensure SOPs are followed during debug and repair; maintain SOPs and checklists; train the team.
• Daily review meetings to discuss debug WIP, scrap and KPI scores.
