Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an L2 Database Operations Engineer to provide incident, request, change and problem management for database platforms, including SQL Server and Oracle.

The role supports 24/7 operations and participates in major incidents, ensuring SLA targets and high availability. You will install and upgrade databases, apply patches, monitor performance, manage access and backups, and develop reports and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Linux and Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Java, PowerShell and Python is advantageous, plus strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for incident, request, change and problem management related to database operations.
• Ensure 24/7 operational coverage and participate in major incidents.
• Meet SLA targets for incidents and service requests with high-quality work.
• Install and upgrade database systems; apply patches and implement changes as required.
• Diagnose and resolve database errors ensuring high availability.
• Manage database access, backups and compliance with security standards.
• Monitor performance and analyze cases to prevent recurrence; improve monitoring as needed.
• Develop processes, operation procedures, and dashboards related to database operations.
• Leverage AI/automation to optimize workflows and IT operations efficiency.
