Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks a Facility Engineer to support the management of a critical environment. You will work with facilities managers on routine operations, energy management, and cost optimization within a data centre setting.

You will coordinate maintenance, assist with procurement, and ensure HSE compliance while driving continuous improvements and client satisfaction for the JLL account in Sedenak, Johor.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline.
• 3 - 4 years of relevant experience in engineering or critical environment space.
• 1 - 2 years' experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility.
• Excellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client and vendor staff.
• Critical environment experience within similar sized site or operation.
• Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives, client relationship and preparation of Hands-on experiences and knowledge in M&E and building related systems, e.g. CRAC, chillers, PDU, UPS, Switch Gears Ops, DX cooling, Network structure cabling, Security.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facility Management Team with tactical planning for the team's goals and objectives
• Recommend continuous management initiatives and energy management plan
• Review existing operations regularly to reduce cost and improve operational standards
• Actively search-out opportunities to achieve better or best results and increase the energy efficiency (PUE – Power Utilization Efficiencies)
• Provide facility specific assistance to the project management team as needed or requested
• Manage and maintain facility management tasks as assigned
• Coordinate special events in support of client or JLL
• Assist with the coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities
• Schedule preventative maintenance, respond to urgent maintenance calls and participate in the creation of emergency preparedness plans
• Ensure the site provision of safe working environment and compliance to HSE standards
