Job summary

Millennium Technology Services in Johor Bahru seeks a hands-on Data Centre Network Engineer to support operations in a data centre environment. You will troubleshoot and configure switches, routers and basic firewalls while performing physical patching and cabling in the data hall.

The role requires experience with VLANs, trunking, subnetting and redundancy, plus the ability to work both at the CLI and physically. CCNA or equivalent knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years hands-on network / data centre experience.
• Strong routing and switching fundamentals.
• Experience with VLANs, trunking, subnetting and switch configuration.
• Knowledge of STP, LAG/LACP and network redundancy.
• CCNA or equivalent networking certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with network patching and structured cabling.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers and basic firewall connectivity.
• Support VLAN configuration, trunking, IP addressing and subnetting.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues.
• Drive physical network patching for fibre and copper connections.
• Install, connect, replace and troubleshoot network cables, SFP modules and equipment.
• Verify connectivity after changes or patching.
• Coordinate with remote teams during incidents and maintenance.
