Job summary

GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGY SDN.BHD. is hiring a Data Centre Engineer in the Johor area to support on-site IDC operations. The role requires maintaining servers, network gear, and the Linux environment, while following client SOPs and safety protocols.

You will engage with clients on-site and be ready to handle emergency situations in a high-pressure data center setting. Educational requirements include a diploma or higher, with 1+ year experience in server/storage maintenance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in CS, telecom or engineering or related field.
• 1+ year experience in server or storage maintenance, preferably data center.
• Basic Chinese and English communication skills for liaising with associates.

Responsibilities

• Understand IDC infrastructure including power, cooling, temperature and humidity.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and replace servers and network equipment; assist with fiber and cable work as directed.
• Possess foundational Linux knowledge; configure common services and system files.
• Comply with SOPs and work procedures; communicate effectively with clients on-site.
• Proactively identify issues and handle high-stress emergency situations gracefully.
