Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Malaysia is seeking an entry-level Data Center Operations Assistant to support safe and efficient day-to-day data center activities, including infrastructure monitoring, incident response, maintenance, and compliance with site procedures.

You will assist with 24x7 monitoring, break-fix support, testing, troubleshooting, asset management, and project support, working under supervision while developing hands-on skills in a dynamic, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in IT or a related field.
• 0–1 year in IT infrastructure, technical ops, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure (servers, networking, storage).
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Support 24x7 monitoring of data center infrastructure and respond to alerts.
• Assist with break-fix maintenance across server, networking, and storage.
• Help install, configure, and test hardware and software to support operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connectivity, and network issues promptly.
• Support preventive maintenance and routine inspections to reduce downtime.
• Assist with day-to-day data center operations and ensure compliance.
• Follow SOPs and MOPs to ensure safe, consistent work.
• Maintain accurate asset and inventory records for audits.
• Monitor performance metrics and support corrective actions.
• Assist with migrations, expansions, and operational improvement projects.
• Carry out requests from supervisor and assist with site monitoring.
