Job summary

CTC Global Sdn Bhd in Penang invites applications for a Data Centre Operator to monitor day-to-day data center operations, servers, and network devices, ensuring smooth on-site service.

The role requires 24/7 on-site presence, coordination with external vendors, basic troubleshooting (L1) per procedures, safety compliance, and maintaining a clean, well-run data center environment. Fresh graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science/IT or Engineering.
• 1–2 years of data center on-site experience; fresh graduates welcome.
• Understanding of data center operations and a willingness to innovate.
• Willing to work in shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day operations for servers and network devices.
• Assist external vendors for repairs and server installations.
• Perform L1 troubleshooting following defined procedures.
• Support 24x7 on-site operations and safety policies.
• Enforce facilities safety rules before external personnel enter Data Center.
• Maintain a clean work environment in the data center.
• Carry out daily walkthroughs of IT and MEP equipment.
• Handle ad hoc requests as needed.

• Assist in facilitating external vendor repairs for tickets and installation of servers
• Perform L1 trouble shooting follow procedure given
• Understand the requirements of 24×7 on-site support
• Responsible to enforce the facilities regulations and safety policies before external personnel enter Data Center room
• Provide a clean work environment by ensuring the facility is clean
• Executing daily walkthroughs of IT equipment and MEP equipment
• Perform ad hoc job for urgent request
• Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent
• At least 1-2 years of large-scale Data Center on-site operating experience. Fresh graduate is welcome
• Understanding of Data Centers, operational excellence and a willingness to innovate in a constantly evolving environment
• Willing to work in shift rotation
