Job summary

Amazon Data Services Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to manage critical facility infrastructure in a fast-paced AWS data center environment.

You will lead operations, maintenance, vendor coordination and incident response to ensure continuous, safe, and cost-efficient data center performance. The role requires 5+ years in electrical/mechanical/HVAC/fire systems within data centers, strong collaboration across teams, and a proactive drive to optimize

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire systems in data centers.
• Familiar with Service Management concepts (Problem and Change).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience managing vendors/contractors in large-scale critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as site point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and manage relationships.
• Meet daily hours of operations and on-call requirements.
• Manage planned/unplanned site works for critical infrastructure with risk assessment and approvals.
• Oversee on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors in accordance with practices and local legislation.
• Assist in establishing performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on data center facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
• Generate change management requests and incident tickets for DCEO activities.
• Coordinate with IT, Networking, Logistics, Safety, Security and partners to optimize plant safety and efficiency.
• Establish documentation for technical support of business and facility operations.
• Support projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability and reliability.
• Resolve infrastructure engineering issues with operating partners.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events per SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning and facility management.
• Provide operational readings and KPIs to ensure uptime.
• Oversee on-site management of contractors per established practices and legislation.
• Maintain electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety equipment.
