Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to oversee critical facility operations within our AWS data centers in Kuala Lumpur. You will act as the site point of contact for stakeholders, manage on-call rotations, and supervise vendors and contractors to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.

In this role you will lead incident response, track performance metrics, coordinate changes, and support capacity planning

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or fire systems in a data center or critical space facility.
• Basic understanding of Service Management concepts (Problem and Change).
• Ability to participate in a 24x7 rotating shift roster.

Responsibilities

• Act as the site point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and manage communications.
• Meet daily hours of operations, on-call requirements, and respond during rotations.
• Manage minor and major planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure with risk assessment and approvals.
• Oversee on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with practices and local legislation.
• Establish performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on data center operations and maintenance.
• Generate change management requests and incident tickets for DCEO activities.
• Coordinate with IT, Networking, Logistics, Safety, Security and other leaders to optimize plant safety and efficiency.
• Document technical support for facility operations and sustainability projects.
• Support projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, and reliability.
• Assist operations in resolving infrastructure engineering issues.
