Job summary

FMX (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Declaration Assistant to support import and export clearance activities.

You will prepare and verify customs declarations, review documents, and ensure RMCD compliance. You will collaborate with customers, operations teams, freight forwarders, and authorities to ensure accurate, timely cargo clearance and proper record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Customs, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in customs declaration, freight forwarding, logistics, import/export, or customs clearance.
• Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and submit import and export customs declarations accurately and within the required timelines.
• Ensure all customs declarations comply with RMCD regulations and other government requirements.
• Review and verify supporting documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, permits, certificates, and other related documents.
• Monitor the status of customs declarations and follow up on pending submissions.
• Liaise with customers, operations teams, freight partners, and customs authorities to resolve queries, discrepancies, and documentation issues.
• Assist in applying for relevant customs permits, exemptions, approvals, and licenses where required.
• Maintain accurate records of customs declarations and supporting documentation.
• Ensure all customs documentation is properly filed and maintained for reference and audit purposes.
