Job summary

SLS Bearings (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to oversee procurement, identify suppliers, and negotiate terms to ensure timely delivery of materials. The role collaborates with multiple departments to meet organizational needs and develop effective strategies.

The ideal candidate has proven purchasing or procurement experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work with Mandarin-speaking contacts.

Qualifications

• Strong negotiation and effective communication skills.
• Able to understand and communicate well with mandarin-speaking customers/vendors.

Responsibilities

• Search available products/suppliers to find the best combination of quality, price and delivery.
• Develop purchasing strategies and identify buying trends to keep the business profitable.
• Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers; negotiate terms and pricing.
• Review supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery; follow up on orders.
• Carry out all necessary purchasing activities and assist as needed.

Job description

As a Purchasing Assistant is responsible for overseeing the procurement process and managing the acquisition of goods and services for the company. This role involves identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet organizational needs. The Purchasing Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to understand their requirements and develop effective procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. What will you be expected to do?

Search available products/ suppliers to find the best combination of quality, price and delivery

Develop purchasing strategies and identify buying trends to keep the business profitable

Compare and evaluate offers from supplier

Negotiate term of pricing/ agreement

Review and evaluate the performance of the suppliers

Follow up order delivery status and ensure on time delivery

Backup purchaser when necessary

Carry out all necessary purchasing activities.

Any tasks assigned by Superior from time to time

What we are looking for?

You have proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management

You would have strong negotiation & effective communication skills

You would have minimum 1-2 years' experience in related fields

You are able to understand and communicate well with mandarin-speaking customers/vendors

You have great time management in multi-tasking and managing additional projects

You are a fast learner, independent worker, and a joyful team member

SPM/STPM/Diploma/Degree & Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply

8:30am – 5:30pm
