Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Field Service Senior Engineer to diagnose and resolve on-site machine issues for customers in the semiconductor industry. You will troubleshoot, provide technical solutions, and coordinate final test activities with cross-functional teams.

The role requires travel up to 10 trips per year, independence, and fluent English; experience with Pick-and-Place (PnP) machines and ATE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• ATE experience preferred.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide technical solutions.
• Plan and coordinate final test activities with cross-functional teams.
• Execute final test operations and manage deviations per escalation protocol.
• Complete final test checklists and meet customer requirements with zero defects.
• Provide feedback to the setup team to improve module setup processes.
• Collaborate with engineering to enhance mechanical, hardware, software, and vision designs.
• Work with project management to align samples with customer requirements.
• Log issues in the tracking system for continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.
• Utilize calibrated tools, jigs, and controlled documents.
• Pursue ongoing technical development per training matrix.
• Uphold 5S and maintain PPE and workplace organization.
• Perform duties domestically or internationally up to 10 trips annually.
• Support company vision, mission, and goals.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Field Service Senior Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, provide technical solutions, and analyze on-site machine issues raised by customers.

Impact You Will Make

Plan and coordinate final test activities with cross-functional teams (Team Lead, Project Manager, Engineering, QA and other stakeholders) to meet project scope and timelines.

Execute final test operations according to plan and elevate any deviations per the manufacturing escalation protocol.

Perform final test checklists and customer-specific requirements accurately, targeting zero defects.

Provide feedback to the setup team to improve module setup processes.

Collaborate with engineering to enhance mechanical, hardware, software, and vision design templates.

Work closely with project management to refine sample handling and customer requirement alignment.

Log all issues in the tracking database to support continuous improvement and root cause analysis.

Use appropriate calibrated tools, jigs, and controlled documents to carry out tasks correctly.

Continuously develop technical competencies aligned with the annual training matrix.

Uphold 5S principles daily, ensuring proper tool maintenance, material labeling, and workplace organization.

Adhere strictly to safe work procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Provide support for field service assignments domestically or internationally (up to 10 trips annually).

Support company vision, mission, and annual goals through active participation and commitment.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Able to travel on short notices.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work independently and good interpersonal skills.
• Diploma/Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, ATE experience preferred.
• Experienced in handling Pick-and-Place (PnP) machines.
• Fluent English (spoken and/ written skills).
• Know other languages will be advantage.
