Job summary

KIDE INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD in Malaysia seeks an Engineer to design, prepare, and coordinate civil, structural, and architectural drawings for building and infrastructure projects. You will work with the construction team to meet milestones within budget and timeframes.

The engineer will supervise contractors and suppliers, ensure works follow design plans, regulations, and safety standards, and coordinate with China HQ and local stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil/structural engineering or architecture.
• 2–3 years of construction-related experience.
• Proficiency in Chinese and English for communication with HQ and stakeholders.
• Familiar with Malaysia’s building regulations and fire/occupational safety codes.
• Experience liaising with government authorities (e.g., BOMBA, CIDB).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for drawings and charts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical drawings, designs, charts, and construction documents.
• Provide technical advice and resolve on-site issues to support construction.

Job description

The Engineer will be responsible for the design, preparation, and coordination of technical drawings and information related to civil, structural, and architectural works for both building and infrastructure construction projects.

The role requires close collaboration with the construction team to ensure milestones are achieved within the budget and time frame.

The Engineer is expected to supervise contractors and suppliers, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with design plans, relevant construction regulations, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and review technical drawings, designs, charts, and construction documents.
• Provide technical advice, resolve on-site technical issues, and support construction activities.
• Understand and align with project policies related to safety, schedule, cost, and quality.
• Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and relevant authorities.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysia’s building regulations, especially in relation to fire safety and workplace safety & health.
• Coordinate and arrange procurement of materials.
• Communicate regularly with China HQ and local stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years of construction-related working experience is required.
• Proficiency in both Chinese language and English (spoken and written) is required to effectively communicate with China HQ and local stakeholders.
• Must be a local Chinese candidate due to the cultural and communication needs of the role.
• Must be familiar with Malaysia’s building regulations and standards, especially fire safety codes and compliance requirements.
• Experience in liaising with Malaysian government authorities (e.g., BOMBA, DBKL, CIDB, etc.) is essential.
• Must be proficient in technical drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and capable of preparing professional construction drawings and charts.
• Willing to work on-site in Ampang and comply with a 6-day workweek schedule.
