Job summary

CNmy International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks a senior professional to lead design management and project delivery for industrial township projects in Malaysia. You will oversee conceptual and detailed design, liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities, and drive design development milestones across the project life cycle.

• Strong knowledge of local codes, standards and regulations.
• Experience with Fastrack and industrial projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery within cost, time, quality and safety targets.
• Oversee design management, authority submissions, tender and construction management.
• Coordinate design consultants locally and abroad; review drawings and specs for constructability and VE.
• Chair design workshops and progress meetings with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with operation manuals and company policies.
• Support project team in project management system establishment and documentation.

Job description

• To lead the project team on project delivery within cost, time, quality and safety requirement with full professionalism.
• To take lead on authority application & submission, design management, tender management, construction management and post construction activities
• To ensure all the Design Development and Project Management protocols are followed by all project stakeholders.
• To ensure company policies and procedures are being followed by team members.
• To review and endorse project design related document.
• To ensure project are executed according to operation manual and company standard.
• To ensure company policies and procedures are being followed by team members.
• To assist Project Director on project management system establishment in local context and improving work methodology.
• To take lead and chair project progress meeting.

Pre-Construction/ Design Management

• To take lead on developing the conceptual and preliminary design upon receiving input from Client.
• To take lead in design management related responsibilities for the entire project cycle.
• To monitor the design schedule and ensure design development milestones are on track.
• To chair technical and design management meeting, and design workshop.
• To lead design meetings and workshops, facilitating collaboration among design teams, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• To review the design drawing and specification to ensure they are in compliance with local codes and authority requirements; to propose for value engineering based on the review.
• To coordinate, liaise with Design Consultants both locally and in foreign countries.
• To take lead in local authority submission, including pre consultations, technical discussion and follow up with relevant department.
• To liaise with Construction Team and Contract Team to review the design drawing to ensure constructability, safety and value engineering.
• To take lead in construction planning and methodology and ensure they are translated into design drawing.
• To support tender and procurement process by reviewing and contributing to the technical specifications.

Construction Stage/ Construction Management

• Provide technical guidance and resolve design-related issues during the construction phase
• To take lead on local authority application & submission, design management, tender management, construction management and project close out.
• Review and address all technical queries and RFIs (Requests for Information) related to design.
• Responsible for technical coordination between design consultants and contractor.
• Ensure that all design changes are accurately documented and communicated to the relevant teams.
• To chair site meeting with client, contractor, consultant and other project stakeholders.
• Any other related works

Requirement

• Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good design knowledge and skills, specializing in industrial project and industrial township design.
• Comprehensive knowledge and solid technical know-how on local and foreign design standards, code, and regulations.
• Experience in Design Consultancy, Project Planning and Project Management Consultancy
• At least 8 years of experience on Project Management/ Design Consulting Practice
• Experience in Fastrack and Industrial Projects
• Proactiveness and good work ethic
• Team player, strong people management skills and leadership skills
• Good working attitude and proactive
• Responsible, decisive, strong level of self-motivation, initiatives, results oriented and strong sense of confidentiality
• Familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, MS office, Microsoft Project, and other Design Software
• Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willing to travel and be seconded to project site during construction stage
