SMART EDUCORE SDN BHD is seeking an enthusiastic and client-focused Course Advisor to join our dynamic student services team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in guiding prospective students through their educational journey and helping them select the most suitable courses for their career aspirations. As a Course Advisor, you will be at the forefront of our recruitment efforts, building meaningful relationships with students and parents whilst providing expert guidance on our diverse course offerings. This role offers an attractive commission structure, rewarding you for your success in student enrolments and demonstrating your value to the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial consultations with prospective students to understand their educational goals, career aspirations and learning preferences
• Provide comprehensive information about course content, duration, delivery methods, career prospects and qualification outcomes
• Assess student suitability for specific programmes and make personalised course recommendations
• Guide students through the application and enrolment process, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently
• Maintain detailed records of student interactions, enquiries and enrolment outcomes using our student management system
• Follow up with prospective students to address questions, overcome objections and facilitate course registration
• Collaborate with course instructors and administrative staff to ensure seamless student onboarding
• Achieve enrolment targets and contribute to the growth of student numbers across all course offerings
• Stay informed about course updates, programme changes and industry trends to provide accurate and current advice
• Develop and nurture relationships with schools, employers and community organisations to generate student leads
• Represent SMART EDUCORE SDN BHD professionally at educational events, career fairs and promotional activities

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in student recruitment, course advisory, sales or customer service roles, ideally within an educational setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively with diverse audiences
• Strong listening and problem-solving abilities to identify student needs and provide tailored course solutions
• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed enrolment targets or sales quotas
• Proficiency in using student management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of the Malaysian education system, vocational training, higher education or online learning platforms is advantageous
• Self-motivated and results-driven with excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are a plus
• A genuine passion for education and supporting student success
• Bachelor's degree in education, business, marketing or a related field is preferred
