Job summary

C-Pak Cergas Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Cost and Inventory Accountant to oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation, ensuring accurate stock counts and timely reporting.

You will collaborate with Production and Procurement to maintain BOMs, monitor variances, and post entries in the ERP system, while upholding Malaysian accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel with data analysis skills.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards is advantageous.
• ACCA, LCCI, or equivalent certifications would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cost accounting and inventory accounting, including stock count reconciliation and valuation.
• Work closely with Production and Procurement to maintain the BOM.
• Maintain factories' product and standard costing; identify variances to business plan.
• Prepare and maintain general ledgers; verify, allocate, and post entries in ERP timely.
• Liaise with auditors and tax agents on closure and audit matters.
• Support timely submission of accurate financial reports and compliance with policies and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on finance and costing matters.
• Handle other ad hoc duties/projects as assigned by Management.

Job description

Responsible for Cost Accounting functions and Inventory Accounting, including managing inventory stock count reconciliation and inventory valuation.

Work closely with Production and Procurement to maintain the BOM.

Maintaining the factories’ product and standard costing, ensure timely identification of variances to business plan to be able to drive the correct behaviors to achieve financial objectives.

Responsible for preparation and maintenance of general ledgers including verifying, allocating and posting accounting entries into ERP system timely and accurately.

Liaise with auditors, tax agent, etc on account closing and audit matters.

Support on the timely submission of accurate financial reports, financial statements, and compliance with appropriate company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Work and collaborate with cross functions teams on finance and costing matters.

Other ad hoc duties / tasks / projects as assigned by the Management.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, or a similar accounting role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work with spreadsheets and data analysis
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, cost allocation methods, and inventory valuation techniques
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail when processing financial information
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet reporting deadlines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and practices would be advantageous
• Relevant professional certifications such as ACCA, LCCI, or equivalent would be beneficial
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information responsibly
