Job summary

China Railway Oversea Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to support our commercial and project teams on high-rise and mixed-development projects.

You will handle progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts, administer contracts, perform takeoffs and cost estimates, and coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants. Strong English is required; Chinese is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of measurement, costing and contract basics.
• Cubicost (Glodon) is a MUST.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to communicate with diverse clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

1. Progress claims & VO — Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts
2. Contract administration — Manage contract documentation, correspondence, and compliance
3. Cost & tender work — Perform quantity takeoff, cost estimation, and tender preparation
4. Stakeholder coordination — Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
5. Documentation control — Maintain proper records, filing, and commercial documentation
6. Site verification — Conduct site measurement and verification when required
7. Business correspondence — Strong written communication skills in English are required; ability to write in Chinese is an advantage

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Strong understanding of measurement, costing, and contract basics
• Cubicost (Glodon) is a MUST
• Proficient in Microsoft office including but not limited to Excel and Word
• English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
