Job summary

Skyplus Electrical & Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Contract Executive/ Assistant to Contract Manager in Kuala Lumpur for a full-time role. You will manage contracts through their lifecycle, ensuring compliance and facilitating clear communication between stakeholders.

This position supports tender processes, tracks milestones and payments, and provides guidance on contract improvements to optimise project outcomes within construction and engineering projects.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial practices, and risk management principles.
• Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex contractual concepts clearly.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favourable terms and risk mitigation.
• Managing contract documentation and maintaining comprehensive records of all contractual agreements and amendments.
• Monitoring contract performance and ensuring all parties adhere to agreed terms, conditions, and timelines.
• Identifying and resolving contractual disputes and claims through negotiation and escalation procedures.
• Liaising between project teams, management, and external parties to ensure clear communication and understanding of contractual obligations.
• Tracking contract milestones, deliverables, and payment schedules to maintain project progress.
• Preparing contract reports and providing recommendations for contract improvements and cost optimisation.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies throughout the contract management process.
• Supporting tender processes and providing contract-related guidance during project planning phases.

What we're looking for

• A Certificate or diploma or bachelor's degree in QS, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the construction or engineering industry
• Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial practices, and risk management principles
• Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex contractual concepts clearly
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
• Meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction standards and regulations is preferred
