Job summary

Eastfound Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Container Truck Driver in Pekan Nanas, Johor, Malaysia. The role focuses on safe, timely transport of containerized cargo, with duties spanning loading, securing, documenting, and routine vehicle checks.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Class B2/GDL E-full heavy vehicle license, at least 3 years of container truck experience, and familiarity with port procedures and safety compliance. This is a full-time, on-site position within the Freight Department.

Qualifications

• License: Valid heavy vehicle driver's license: Class B2, GDL E-full or regional equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience in container truck driving, preferably around Johor Port and Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP).
• Familiar with container pick-up and empty container return procedures at ports/depots.
• Basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate container trucks to transport goods to designated locations on schedule.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance to ensure truck reliability.
• Assist loading and securing cargo with warehouse staff to prevent damage.
• Maintain accurate transport records, waybills, delivery notes, and safety checklists.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company safety policies while communicating with dispatch.

Position Overview
The Container Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of containerized cargo. This role ensures that all cargo is securely loaded, accurately documented, and delivered efficiently. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, compliance with traffic laws, and exceptional punctuality.

Key Responsibilities

Cargo Transport:Drive and operate container trucks to transport goods to designated locations, following specified routes and schedules.

Vehicle Maintenance:Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure the truck’s optimal performance.

Loading and Unloading Support:Assist in loading and securing cargo, collaborating with warehouse personnel to ensure safe handling and damage prevention.

Documentation:Complete and maintain accurate transport records, including waybills, delivery notes, and safety checklists.

Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a strong commitment to safe driving practices.

Communication:Maintain open communication with dispatch and logistics teams to provide updates on delivery status and report any issues.

Key Requirements

License: Valid heavy vehicle driver's license: Class B2, GDL E-full (Bersendi) or regional equivalent.

Experience:Minimum 3-year experience in container truck driving, preferably with experience operating around Johor Port and Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP); Familiar with the basic procedures for container pick-up and empty container return at ports and depots.

Technical Skills:Basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance and minor repairs; understanding of cargo securing techniques.

Regulatory Knowledge:In-depth understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operations.

Personal Attributes:High safety awareness, excellent punctuality, strong attention to detail, and reliability.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform extended hours of driving and handle physical aspects of loading and unloading cargo.
