Job summary

Exyte Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (CSA/MEP) to support hyperscale data center projects from construction through commissioning and handover.

The Construction Supervisor will supervise site construction activities, coordinate contractors and subcontractors, monitor installation quality and progress, and ensure works are executed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Typically 2–5+ years of relevant construction/site supervision experience.
• Experience on hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, semiconductor plants, industrial facilities, or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Exposure to commissioning and handover of MEP systems is an advantage.

Exyte Malaysia is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (CSA/MEP) to support the delivery of hyperscale data center projects from construction through commissioning and handover.

The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for supervising site construction activities, coordinating contractors and subcontractors, monitoring installation quality and progress, and ensuring that works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules, and applicable codes and standards.

The role requires strong hands-on site experience in Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) and/or Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) works, preferably within mission‑critical facilities, data centers, semiconductor facilities, industrial projects, or other technically complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

Supervise daily construction activities for assigned CSA and/or MEP work packages.

Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and project requirements.

Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

Verify site installation against approved design documents and identify discrepancies, clashes, and constructability issues.

Coordinate work fronts to ensure activities are properly sequenced and aligned with the overall construction programme.

Ensure adequate manpower, materials, equipment, and resources are available to maintain planned progress.

Monitor productivity and provide regular progress updates to the Construction Manager/Project Manager.

CSA Works

Depending on assigned discipline, supervise activities including:

Earthworks, excavation, backfilling, and site development.

Reinforced concrete, foundations, slabs, structural steel, and structural works.

Building envelope, roofing, waterproofing, and architectural finishes.

Internal partitions, doors, ceilings, flooring, painting, and associated architectural works.

Equipment foundations, housekeeping pads, trenches, pits, and other data center infrastructure works.

Coordination of builders' works required for MEP installations.

MEP Works

Depending on assigned discipline, supervise activities including:

Mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, and associated equipment.

Electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, busduct/busbar, cable containment, cabling, and earthing.

Fire protection, fire detection, plumbing, drainage, and associated building services.

Installation of critical infrastructure and data center support systems.

Coordination of MEP installations with CSA works and other building services.

Support system testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and final handover activities.

Safety & Environmental Compliance

Promote and enforce a strong site safety culture.

Ensure contractors comply with project HSE requirements, RAMS, permit‑to‑work systems, and applicable Malaysian regulations.

Stop unsafe work when necessary and immediately elevate significant safety concerns.

Participate in toolbox talks, safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations as required.

Ensure good housekeeping and appropriate environmental controls within assigned work areas.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, engineers, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning teams, designers, consultants, and client representatives.

Attend daily coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, progress meetings, and technical coordination sessions.

Track construction progress and highlight risks, delays, design issues, and resource constraints.

Assist with resolution of RFIs, technical queries, site instructions, and construction‑related issues.

Maintain accurate daily records, progress reports, inspection records, and site documentation.

Support as‑built documentation, punch‑list closure, testing records, and project handover.

Requirements

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Relevant technical qualifications combined with substantial site experience may also be considered.

Experience

Typically 2–5+ years of relevant construction/site supervision experience, depending on seniority.

Experience working on hyperscale data centers, mission‑critical facilities, semiconductor plants, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Demonstrated experience supervising contractors and subcontractors on complex construction projects.

Experience with large‑scale design‑and‑build projects is preferred.

Exposure to commissioning and handover of MEP systems is an advantage.
