Job summary

ES Connect Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-site construction for major data center projects. You will oversee mobilization through handover, coordinate ELV/BMS cabling, ICT infra, and ensure work meets drawings, specs, and safety standards.

The role demands at least a Diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering and a minimum of five years in project construction, with hyperscale data centers a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall construction activities for assigned projects, from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee the installation and construction of structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, ELV/BMS cabling & systems and other related works, depending on project requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and other stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.
• Monitor daily site progress and ensure manpower, materials, equipment and resources are properly planned and utilised.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved method statements, drawings, specifications, quality requirements and project procedures.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Elmina, Sungai Buloh, Selangor.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Construction Manager to join our project team and oversee construction activities for major projects, including data center infrastructure projects for global technology companies.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage overall construction activities for assigned projects, from mobilisation through to completion and handover.

Plan, coordinate and supervise site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Oversee the installation and construction of structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, ELV/BMS cabling & systems and other related works, depending on project requirements.

Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and other stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.

Monitor daily site progress and ensure manpower, materials, equipment and resources are properly planned and utilised.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved method statements, drawings, specifications, quality requirements and project procedures.

Monitor project schedule and identify potential delays, constraints, interface issues and construction risks, taking timely corrective action.

Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on construction progress, issues, risks and recovery plans.

Job Requirements

Possess at least Diploma in Construction/Civil Engineering or relevant certification.

Minimum five (5) years working experience in Project Construction, in similar position or related working experience.

Experience working on hyperscale or large-scale data center projects, ELV/BMS cabling & system is an added advantage.

In-depth understanding of construction procedures, technical and project management principles.

Good leadership and interpersonal skill to communicate with other team members.

Understanding of site safety plan and safety activities operation flow.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project is an advantage.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an added advantage but is not mandatory.

Willing to work extra hours and support on weekend or public holiday if required
