Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to assist the Project Manager by organizing, planning, and setting targets for construction activities in line with the work program. You will ensure effective resource allocation and clear communication of objectives to site staff.

You will supervise project and site teams, monitor progress, deliver quality assurance, and provide management with regular status and financial updates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Strong leadership and coordination abilities for site teams.
• Experience with construction project management and site supervision.

Responsibilities

Job description

Assist the Project Manager in organizing, planning, and setting targets for construction activities in line with the construction work program to ensure effective resource allocation.

Communicate objectives, targets, and working procedures clearly to site staff.

Supervise project and site teams, monitor and track progress, and provide quality assurance, status updates, and financial reports. Deliver regular updates to management and immediate supervisors to ensure efficient resource allocation.

Monitor compliance with project requirements, including tracking the progress of internal services (e.g., engineering, procurement) and contractual obligations.

Ensure that quality records are created and maintained to meet quality standards.

Enforce compliance with site safety and health rules, policies and work instructions to meet the company's quality, safety, and environmental standards.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.

10+ years of construction site experience with main contractors.

Experience in Mission Critical Facilities is preferred.

Strong construction management, coordination and leadership skills.
