Job summary

Conspec Builders Malaysia is seeking an experienced MEP Draftsman to prepare detailed layouts and shop drawings for HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and Revit. You will identify spatial clashes and ensure alignment with local standards in a fast-paced project environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of MEP drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and familiarity with UBBL submissions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drafting & modeling detailed layouts, schematics, and shop drawings for MEP systems using AutoCAD and Revit
• Coordinate and detect clashes between MEP services and structural/architectural elements
• Ensure drawings comply with CAD standards and local guidelines (UBBL, authorities)
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and as-built drawings throughout projects
• Collaborate with site teams and attend project coordination meetings to resolve design issues

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting & Modeling: Prepare detailed layouts, schematics, and shop drawings for MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing) using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordination & Clash Detection: Identify, flag, and resolve spatial clashes between various MEP services and structural/architectural elements.
• Compliance: Ensure all technical drawings adhere to company CAD standards, client specifications, and local Malaysian authority guidelines (e.g., TNB, Syabas, Bomba, JKR).
• Documentation: Manage, update, and maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaboration: Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with site teams to resolve design discrepancies during construction.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Certificate or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), Architecture, Drafting, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as an MEP Draftsman in the Malaysian construction or consultancy sector.
• Software Mastery: High proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Practical experience with BIM/Revit MEP is highly advantageous.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP services installation details, schematic diagrams, and builder's works coordination.
• Local Standards: Familiarity with Malaysian Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) and local authority submission procedures.
• Soft Skills: Sharp attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to deliver quality work under tight project timelines.
