Overview

This position is supporting the Malaysia Compliance COE function which was created as a global support role responsible for assisting the Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) Compliance Center of Expertise (CoE) functions which provide Compliance support for GWAM Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs) across GWAM business entities in Asia, Europe and North America.

Position Responsibilities
  • Work closely with GWAM CoE Leads to implement compliance procedures and policies in accordance with GWAM Compliance global platforms and standards in support of all regulatory requirements and internal guidelines for GWAM and Manulife Investment Management.

  • Assist in preparing reports for local and overseas regulatory authorities, and other third parties including the funds’ trustee, industry associations and institutional clients.

  • Assist the Head of Compliance (Malaysia COE) in making recommendations for improvement of compliance policies and processes, or support process efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Performing compliance monitoring and testing as assigned.

  • Assisting in compliance related projects as assigned, including transition of new workload into the CoE compliance teams.

  • Assisting in handling queries from CoE team members and sharing best practices to help build the CoE Compliance team.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of finance, accounting, business, law, and/or related professional qualification is an added advantage.

  • Experience in fund / asset management compliance, audit, financial intermediaries or regulator is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of investment industry, securities laws, rules and regulations, international financial markets, and marketing guidelines.

  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills, multi-lingual an advantage.

  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
