Job summary

Ovivo Water in Malaysia seeks a Commissioning Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in commissioning, startup and performance testing for water treatment projects. You will review drawings, develop procedures, and coordinate activities with project managers, contractors, vendors and customers.

The role requires on-site work at customer facilities, strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently to meet schedule commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, instrument or related engineering field.
• 3–5 years of commissioning, installation, startup or project engineering experience.
• Experience at customer sites and managing commissioning activities independently.
• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.

• Ensure all systems and equipment meet operational, safety, and performance requirements.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, and handover documentation.
• Conduct training sessions for customers and end-users on system operation and maintenance.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
• Support project completion and successful handover to clients within the agreed schedule.
• Any other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in commissioning, installation, startup, or project engineering.
• Experience in water treatment, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, utilities, or related industries is an added advantage.
• Experience working at customer sites and managing commissioning activities independently.
• Knowledge of commissioning processes, troubleshooting methodologies, and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.
