Job summary

Ovivo Malaysia is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to plan and execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance testing at customer sites in Penang. You will review drawings and specs, develop procedures, and coordinate with project managers, contractors, and customers to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a 3–5 year track record in commissioning and familiarity with PLC/SCADA and control systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in commissioning, installation, startup, or project engineering.
• Experience in water treatment, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, utilities, or related industries is an added advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems is advantageous.
• Knowledge of commissioning processes, troubleshooting methodologies, and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and project documentation.
• Develop and implement commissioning procedures, test plans, and inspection checklists.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, contractors, vendors, and customers.
• Perform site inspections and verify installation quality and compliance with design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning and startup phases.
• Ensure all systems and equipment meet operational, safety, and performance requirements.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, and handover documentation.
• Conduct training sessions for customers and end-users on system operation and maintenance.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
• Support project completion and successful handover to clients within the agreed schedule.
• Any other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Job Requirements
