Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical support and lead site commissioning for Building Automation Systems across Malaysia. The role emphasizes understanding customer requirements and rapidly demonstrating composite-based solutions with costing, timing, and resources included in proposals.

The position involves working with the project manager for controls execution, preparing technical submissions and drawings, and supporting project execution and cost estimation

Qualifications

• Experience in building management systems and controls
• Knowledge of ACMV and Tridium Niagara is advantageous
• Ability to prepare cost estimates and BOQ from drawings and specs

Responsibilities

• Provide technical customer support with analysis of BMS, project schedules, costing, and submittals
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to align solutions, costing, and delivery feasibility
• Prepare technical submissions, drawings, and high-level design documentation
• Support project execution and engineering field coordination for Building Automation Systems
• Generate BOQ and ensure accuracy for proposal submissions
• Prepare cost estimates from drawings and customer documents in collaboration with engineers
• Assist in conceptual design of composite components to support proposals
• Work as part of a cross-functional team of design, engineering and operations staff

The Project Engineer is responsible for technical support and site commissioning work. Key emphasis will be on the ability to understand customer requirements and rapidly demonstrate how composite based solutions can be utilized to provide solutions with costing, timing, and resources included in the proposals. Site commissioning work will be conducted within all states in Malaysia, working hand in hand with the project manager for controls execution.

Key responsibilities

Provide customer support by responding to requests for technical queries with detailed analysis of building management system, project schedule of execution, material costing, and submittal of design and process improvements

Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to align solutions, costing, and delivery feasibility

Prepare technical submissions, drawings, and proposals, including system schematics and high-level design documentation

Assist in project execution and coordination on the engineering field, especially on Building Automation Systems delivery

Perform cost estimation based on drawings, specifications, and site requirements

Generate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure accuracy for proposal submissions

Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers and other professional and technical personnel

Perform conceptual design of composite components and assemblies to support proposals

Work as part of a team of design, engineering, and operations staff

About you

Knowledge of ACMV and controls associated with Tridium Niagara system will be an advantage
