As a Commis Chef, you will support our experienced chefs in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to the exceptional dining experiences we deliver to our guests.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant culinary qualification or apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong foundational knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen safety
• Attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Physical stamina and the ability to work standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management and the ability to work efficiently under pressure during service periods
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team
• A genuine passion for cooking and commitment to professional development
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards, with a relevant certification preferred
• Flexibility with shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, techniques, and presentation standards
• Assist senior chefs in food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and cooking ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of assigned workstations and cooking equipment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
• Support the kitchen team in plating and garnishing dishes for service
• Rotate through different kitchen stations to gain experience in various culinary areas
• Assist with stock management, food ordering, and inventory control
• Respond promptly to feedback from senior chefs and continuously improve cooking techniques
• Contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen environment
