About the role

GRAND MAJO CATERERS is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our culinary team on a full-time basis. Based in Cheras Batu 9, Selangor, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As a Commis Chef, you will work under the guidance of experienced chefs, contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that delight our clients and guests. This role is crucial to maintaining our standards of excellence in catering and food service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
• Assist senior chefs in food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and cooking of ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work stations and kitchen equipment
• Support the execution of catering events and service functions
• Monitor and replenish food stocks and kitchen supplies as required
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations consistently
• Receive and implement feedback from senior kitchen staff to improve performance
• Assist with plating and presentation of dishes to meet company standards
• Support the kitchen team in achieving service times and maintaining food quality

What we’re looking for

• Completed culinary qualification or relevant hospitality training, such as a diploma or certificate in culinary arts
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures
