Job summary

Waftech Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, calibrate, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines according to drawings and work orders. You will read blueprints, select tools, and run programs to produce precision parts while maintaining clean, safe operations.

In addition, you will perform routine maintenance, conduct in-process quality checks, document cycle times and settings, and collaborate with engineers to optimize processes and reduce waste.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations, tooling, and setup requirements.
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, tooling, or materials to minimize downtime.
• Set up, calibrate, and adjust CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting tools, and setting offsets.

Job description

• Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines according to blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations, tooling, and setup requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices for each machining operation.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and report any defects or deviations from specifications to the engineering or quality control department.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Document production data, including machine settings, cycle times, and quality checks, as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ways to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
