Job summary

UIS Technologies Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based precision engineering company in Penang, seeks a seasoned CNC Process Engineering leader. You will oversee NPI, guide a team of engineers and technicians, and collaborate with customers to develop robust CNC programs and machining strategies.

The role drives cycle-time and cost improvements while ensuring compliant, standardized processes. The ideal candidate has a mechanical/ manufacturing engineering degree with at least 10 years of CNC experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience: at least 5 years of CNC hands-on experience and 5 years in a management role.
• Strong expertise in CNC milling processes, machining parameters, cutting tools, fixtures and process optimization.
• Experience in NPI, process validation, machining trials, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, SPC and process capability improvement.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee new product introduction (NPI), process feasibility, machining trials and production readiness.
• Lead a team of CNC Process engineers/Technical Specialist/Technicians to perform process development, optimization and technical troubleshooting.
• Work closely with customers to understand requirements and develop CNC machining programs, cutting parameters, tooling strategies and machining methods to meet product specifications.
• Drive cycle-time reduction, setup-time improvement, scrap reduction and machining cost optimization.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining defects, process instability and recurring quality issues.
• Establish and standardize machining processes, work instructions, process control plans and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, to improve process capability, machine utilization and productivity.
• Evaluate new machining technologies, cutting tools, fixtures and automation opportunities to enhance manufacturing capability.
• Establish and standardize engineering procedures, machining processes, work instructions and technical documentation to ensure consistency and compliance across the team.
