Job summary

UOC SDN BHD in Cyberjaya is seeking a Clinical Instructor to supervise, teach, and evaluate nursing students in clinical wards and skills labs. The role integrates theory with practice, ensuring safe and competent nursing procedures while upholding high standards of education and professionalism.

The instructor will conduct bedside teaching, supervise planning of patient care, model correct techniques, and assess competency through OSCEs and ongoing feedback.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct bedside teaching in wards based on learning outcomes.

• Teach and supervise nursing procedures across disciplines until competency.
• Supervise student care based on the nursing process.

• Monitor and evaluate students' clinical competencies via observation and feedback.
• Prepare OSCEs and practical assessments for final exams.
• Maintain records of attendance, performance and competency evaluations.

Job description

The Clinical Instructor is responsible for supervising, teaching, and evaluating nursing students in clinical and mock ward and skills laboratory settings. The role focuses on facilitating the integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, ensuring safe and competent performance of nursing procedures, and upholding high standards of nursing education and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct bedside teaching in the wards based on the learning outcomes
• Supervise students in the planning and implementation of patient care according to disciplines
• Demonstrate nursing procedures and ensure students adhere to correct techniques and professional standards
• Ensure safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing practice at all times
• Teach and supervise students on nursing procedures according to the various disciplines throughout student clinical practice till students achieve competency
• Teach and supervise students in the care of patients based on nursing process
• Mentor and counsel students in their academic, clinical, and professional development
• Monitor and evaluate students' clinical competencies through direct observation and feedback
• Prepare and conduct Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) and other practical assessments as part of the final examination
• Maintain accurate and updated records of students' attendance, performance, and competency evaluations
