Job summary

ARKITEK ECPO SDN. BHD. is seeking an Inspector of Works to ensure construction works comply with contract drawings, specifications, and current regulations.

The role involves site inspections, advising contractors on quality control, and coordinating with consultants to resolve design issues. The candidate should have a Diploma/Certificate from a technical institution and at least five years of relevant experience, with preference for those registered as Inspector of Works with LAM.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate from a technical institution or higher
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a related field
• Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation and reporting skills
• Experience supervising high-rise residential or similar projects preferred
• Registered with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) as Inspector of Works (IOW)

Responsibilities

• Check drawings against contract drawings and specifications for consistency
• Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with contract and current legislation
• Advise contractors on quality control and interpretation of documents
• Prepare progress and site activity reports
• Supervise construction works to meet specifications and timelines
• Ensure delivered materials conform to approved specs and inspection plans
• Identify and manage remedial works within contract timelines
• Report progress and issues to superiors and recommend solutions
• Issue site memos and NCRs as needed
• Coordinate RFIs and liaise with consultants to resolve design issues
• Monitor progress and report delays to the Architect
• Record variations and completion measurements
• Assist with final accounts preparation
• Maintain documentation of progress, labour, equipment and weather
• Attend site and technical meetings and implement company QA procedures
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Job description

• Checking architectural, landscape, ID, and other construction drawings against contract drawings, and specifications to ensure consistency.
• To carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with the contract specification and drawings, current legislation and standard policy
• To assist, instruct and advise contactors on site, on matters related to quality control, and the interpretation of contact documents
• To prepare reports on progress, site activities and all other related matters
• To be responsible for the supervision and monitoring of construction works in accordance with the contract and construction drawings especially in respect of specifications, quality and time of completion
• To ensure that all materials delivered to site are conform to the approved specifications and the project’s inspection test plan
• To identify all remedial/outstanding works to be carried out and to ensure that those works are carried out by the contactors within the time stipulated in the contracts
• To regularly report to relevant superiors on the progress of the works and the problem areas encountered especially in respect of defective, outstanding or non-conforming works or delayed works
• To issue site memo, recording for non-compliance and provide recommendations for a solution(s).
• Sign off inspection, test records and NCR.
• Assist consultants for the approval/rejection of building materials at site.
• Coordinate RFI, and liaise with consultants of all disciplines to ensure timely resolution to construction issues and design matters.
• Monitoring the progress of the works and reporting to the Architect for any delays and issues on site.
• Measurement for Variation Order work.
• Record for completion of work.
• Inspection for closure of defect rectification.
• Assisting consultants for Final Account preparation.
• To keep all relevant forms, documents, correspondences and records in respect of the progress of works such as daily work record with encompasses labor force, machinery and weather records
• To attend all site meetings and technical meetings as directed and when necessary
• To implement any and all relevant policies, procedures and work constructions as so defined in the Company’s Quality Management System
• Any and all other duties as and when assigned from time to time by the superior/management

Job Requirement:

• Diploma/Cert from Technical Institution or above
• At least 5 years working experience in related field
• Initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

• Preferably with experiences in supervising high rise residential product or similar projects
