Job summary

CHINA STATE CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced project design coordinator to establish and monitor design objectives and supervise design staff to meet deadlines.

The role involves reviewing multi-discipline design plans, coordinating with other departments, and guiding technical requirements on site. Fresh graduates welcome; 1-3 years' experience preferred; English/Bahasa Malaysia fluent.

Job description

Establishing and monitoring the progress and objectives of the design work, supervising the work plans of the design staff, and ensuring that the design work is completed on time.

Reviewing design plans, including structural, architectural, interior design, plumbing and drainage, infrastructure works to ensure that they meet project requirements, relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

Coordinating communication and cooperation between the design department and other project departments, resolving design issues in a timely manner, and coordinating the interests of all parties.

Monitoring design changes during the construction process and controlling the cost and impact of design changes to ensure that construction progress and quality are not affected.

Organizing the preparation and review of design documents to ensure the accuracy of design files, such as construction drawings, bills of quantities, and material specifications.

Establishing and improving design standards, regulations, systems, and processes to improve the quality and efficiency of design work.

Providing technical guidance, coordinating the execution of construction plans, processes, and technical requirements, and making technical suggestions.

Communicating with clients to understand their needs, communicating and coordinating design plans with clients.

Provide administrative support to the project management team as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.

Proficient in planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).

Knowledgeable in construction procedures and standards.

Good communication and coordination skills, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to adapt to the construction site working environment.

Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to communicate in Chinese is an added advantage for work-related coordination with suppliers and stakeholders.
