Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited seeks a Civil & Structural Engineer in Malaysia to support mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will review drawings and calculations, coordinate earthworks and external works, and monitor safety and quality on site.

You will interact with architectural and MEP teams, verify survey data, and ensure timely handover. A 3+ year track record and familiarity with Malaysian standards are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in building, infrastructure, or large-scale projects.
• Registered Graduate Engineer with BEM preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian Standards and local authority requirements.
• Ability to read civil/structural drawings and technical docs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and document management tools.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills.
• Willing to travel and able to work weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Review civil and structural drawings, specifications and calculations for project compliance.
• Coordinate earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, drainage, roads and external works.
• Conduct site inspections and verify survey data, levels, reinforcement, formwork and concrete works.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP and project teams to resolve design discrepancies.
• Monitor construction progress, quality and safety, and resolve non-conformances.
• Support material testing, commissioning, defect rectification and handover processes.
• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, inspection records and test reports.

Job description

We are looking for a Civil & Structural Engineer to support the delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects. The role will be responsible for design reviews, site coordination, quality assurance, construction monitoring, and stakeholder management to ensure civil and structural works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Review civil and structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions for project compliance.

Coordinate earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, drainage, roads, and external works throughout project execution.

Conduct site inspections and verify survey data, levels, reinforcement, formwork, and concrete works prior to inspections and pours.

Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and project teams to resolve design discrepancies and technical issues.

Monitor construction progress, quality, and safety performance, ensuring timely resolution of non-conformances.

Support material testing, inspections, commissioning activities, defect rectification, and project handover processes.

Maintain project documentation including RFIs, inspection records, test reports, as-built drawings, and handover documents.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent recognised qualification.

Minimum 3 years of experience in building, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.

Registered Graduate Engineer with BEM is preferred.

Good understanding of Malaysian Standards, local authority requirements, and construction best practices.

Ability to interpret civil and structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

Proficient in AutoCAD and common engineering/document management tools.

Strong coordination, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.

Willing to travel, comfortable to work on weekend if require
