Job summary

Thousands of Years Media Sdn. Bhd. (ToYm) invites a Head of Content & Licensing to lead our content acquisition, licensing, and partnership strategy across media, entertainment, and digital platforms.

You will source quality content, negotiate licensing terms, and identify commercial opportunities to fuel audience growth, platform expansion, and revenue streams. The role requires deep knowledge of rights management and strong cross‑functional leadership.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years in content acquisition, licensing, media, streaming, or distribution.
• Strong understanding of content rights, IP ownership and licensing.
• Experience with OTT/streaming platforms is a plus.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead content acquisition, licensing, and partnerships strategy.
• Source quality short dramas, films, series, and digital content for projects and platforms.
• Identify content opportunities across Malaysia, China, Southeast Asia, and other markets.
• Negotiate licensing terms, rights, territories, duration, exclusivity, revenue-sharing, and arrangements.
• Evaluate content quality, market fit, audience appeal, ROI before acquisition.
• Build relationships with producers, studios, distributors, content owners, creators, agencies, and media companies.
• Identify exclusive/original content, co-production, distribution, and partnership opportunities.
• Work with Production, Creative, Marketing, Sales, Technology, and Operations to align content direction with business objectives.
• Support content planning: genre mix, language mix, release schedule, title strategy, audience retention.
• Monitor content performance: watch time, retention, engagement, ROI, title performance.
• Prepare acquisition proposals, licensing summaries, and performance reports for management.
• Ensure all content arrangements are documented, commercially clear, and aligned with company interests.
