Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a QC Laboratory Analyst to plan, organize and monitor QC activities in the laboratory while conducting required tests across all manufacturing stages. The role involves developing and validating analytical methods, managing chemical inventory, and contributing to FSMS ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 and Halal standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, is an IKM member, and has at least 2 years in a food manufacturing QA role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent is required.
• Member of Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM) is required.
• At least 2 years in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with ICP-OES and GC-MS instrumentation.
• Knowledge of GLP, HACCP, ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
• Able to work independently and in a team to meet deadlines.
• Good communication in Malay and English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and monitor QC activities in the laboratory.
• Conduct QC tests across all manufacturing stages from raw materials to finished products.
• Develop, improve and customize equipment and analytical methods.
• Perform validation and verification for test methods.
• Manage chemical inventory, storage and safety in the laboratory.
• Conduct CHRA activities in the laboratory.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab machineries and tools safely.
• Maintain quality evaluation records.
• Prepare documents such as COA and Sanitary Health Certificates.
• Ensure work complies with specifications and requirements.
• Assist monthly Plant Sanitary Inspection.
• Assist implementation of FSMS ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP and Halal standards.
• Assist internal and external audits.
• Provide feedback on discrepancies and non-conformities.
• Initiate corrective actions to prevent nonconformities.
• Assist with customer inquiries or complaints.
• Support Poison License Holder.
• Implement and uphold 5S standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• To plan, organize and monitor the QC activities in the laboratory
• To conduct the required quality control tests or evaluations on all stages of manufacturing, from incoming raw materials to finished products
• To develop, improve and customize equipment and analytical methods
• To perform validation and verification for test methods
• To perform internal verification and validation and external services for machineries and tools
• To manage chemical inventory, storage and safety in the laboratory
• To conduct Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) activities in the laboratory
• To operate and trouble- shoot machineries and tools used in the laboratory safely and efficiently
• To maintain quality evaluation records
• To perform document preparation such as Certificate of Analysis, Sanitary Health Certificate, evaluation reports etc
• To assure all work assigned is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements
• To undertake the monthly Plant Sanitary Inspection
• To assist in the implementation of FSMS ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP and Halal standards
• To conduct the requisite annual internal audit of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
• To assist during external audits (i.e. Regulatory, certification body or customer audits)
• To provide immediate feedback to superior and relevant departments regarding any discrepancies or non-conformities identified in the process or product
• To initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble- shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products, process and food safety system
• To assist in the handling of customer’s enquiries or complaints
• To support Poison License Holder
• To implement and upkeep 5S standards at the assigned work sites
• Other functions which may be instructed from time to time by the company or any designated person.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or equivalents
• Member of Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (Institut Kimia Malaysia, IKM)
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant / similar role in a food manufacturing industry
• Able to operate analytical instruments such as the ICP-OES, GC-MS etc.
• Knowledge in GLP, HACCP, ISO 22000 & FSSC 22000
• Capable of working alone and with others to meet tight deadlines
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written in Malay and English

Willing to training in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur until April 2027.
