Job summary

Tyson Foods in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain 11kV electrical distribution systems in a manufacturing setting. You will perform inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoot faults to minimize interruptions.

The role requires 3+ years of HV (11kV) experience, a Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering, and adherence to ST, OSHA, and company safety rules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in electrical engineering or related discipline is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with high-voltage electrical systems (11kV).
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial/plant environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain 11kV electrical distribution systems.
• Carry out routine inspection and monitoring of electrical equipment and installations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, equipment failures and power interruptions.
• Monitor and maintain 11kV switchgear, transformers, MCCs and other distribution equipment.
• Support the operation and maintenance of generators, UPS and other electrical systems.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergencies.
• Coordinate maintenance with contractors and service providers.
• Maintain accurate electrical maintenance records and logs.
• Support statutory inspections, testing and regulatory compliance.

• Monitor and maintain 11kV switchgear, transformers, MCCs and electrical distribution equipment.
• Support the operation and maintenance of generators, UPS and other electrical systems.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergency situations.
• Conduct electrical equipment inspections and identify potential safety and reliability issues.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors and service providers.
• Maintain accurate electrical maintenance records, inspection reports and operational logs.
• Support statutory inspections, testing and regulatory compliance activities.
• Ensure electrical work is carried out in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Follow safe work practices including Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to electrical reliability, safety and energy efficiency.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related discipline will be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in 11kV electrical systems, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial or plant environment.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in high-voltage electrical systems (11kV), preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
