Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking hardworking central kitchen and bakery staff to join our production team in Penang. You will prepare, bake, and pack fresh food and bakery products for daily dispatch to store outlets.

Experience in bakery or central kitchen is preferred, but enthusiastic newcomers are welcome. You should be able to stand long hours in a fast-paced, commercial kitchen and read recipes in Bahasa Malaysia or English.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or central kitchen preferred.
• Able to stand long hours in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Basic reading of recipes in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
• Punctual, responsible and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Food & bakery prep, bake pastries and breads, assemble ready-to-eat products.
• Pack, seal, and label finished goods for daily morning dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, follow food safety, Halal and MeSTI standards.
• Monitor daily raw material usage; report low stock to supervisor.
• Operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment safely.

Central Kitchen & Bakery Staff

About the Role: We are looking for hardworking and reliable central kitchen and bakery staff to join our central production team. You will be responsible for preparing, baking, and packing fresh food and bakery products (like sandwiches, breads, and ready-to-eat meals) to be dispatched daily to our retail outlets.

Key Responsibilities

• Food & Bakery Prep: Assist in daily food preparation, baking pastries/breads, and assembling ready-to-eat products according to standard recipes.

• Packing & Labeling: Accurately pack, seal, and label finished products for daily morning dispatch to store branches.

• Quality & Hygiene: Maintain strict cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations. Ensure compliance with food safety, Halal, and MeSTI standards.

• Stock Management: Monitor daily raw material usage, practice FIFO (First-In, First-Out), and report low ingredient stock to the supervisor.

• Equipment Care: Safely operate and clean commercial kitchen and bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, sealers).

Requirements

• Experience: Preferable to have some experience in a bakery or central kitchen. Those with zero experience but with interests are welcome too.

• Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long hours and work in a fast-paced, commercial kitchen environment.

• Language: Basic understanding of Bahasa Malaysia or English to read recipes and production schedules.

• Attitude: Punctual, responsible, and a good team player.
