Job summary

Future Food in Malaysia is seeking a bakery/pastry assistant, entry-level or experienced, with interns welcome. You will assist pastry chefs in doughs, fillings, and decorating, operate bakery equipment, and help with packing and stock rotation.

This role requires a positive team spirit, readiness to learn in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to stand for long hours. Performance-based bonus applies twice a year.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bakery or pastry preparation is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand for long hours and handle physical tasks.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry chefs and bakers in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance at all times.
• Bake different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes and multigrain breads.
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits).
• Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers.
