SEDC GLOBAL BUSINESS SERVICES SDN. BHD. is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily yacht operations in Sarawak, ensuring safety, SOP compliance and exceptional guest experiences.
Based full-time in Sarawak, you will lead crews, manage budgets, and coordinate with authorities to deliver premium maritime tourism services. The role requires a Malaysian citizen with 5+ years in yacht/cruise operations or luxury hospitality, plus relevant maritime certifications (STCW, CoC preferred).
Oversee and manage all aspects of daily yacht operations, including scheduling, logistics, crew supervision, and premium guest services. Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, operational Standard Operating Procedures and company policies, as required by Jabatan Laut Malaysia and other relevant authorities.
Plan and supervise routine yacht maintenance, technical inspections, and emergency readiness
Recruit, train, and lead yacht crew to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and service excellence
Coordinate with tourism boards, port authorities, and internal departments to ensure seamless execution of premium tourism services
Develop and execute luxury tour package sales, marketing strategies, and promotional campaigns tailored for both domestic and international high-end travellers
Liaise with travel and tour agents, luxury concierge services, and tourism partners to offer exclusive private and group chartering experiences, ensuring customized itineraries and VIP-level service
Monitor operational budgets, manage expenditures efficiently, and implement cost-effective improvements while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction
Continuously evaluate and enhance customer experience, operational systems, and service delivery
Malaysian citizen and willing to be based full-time in Sarawak
Recognised Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or professional certification in Maritime Studies, Marine Operations, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in yacht/cruise operations, premium tourism, or hospitality services involving maritime vessels
Sound knowledge of marine regulations, vessel safety protocols, documentation, and maintenance procedures
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Maritime certifications such as STCW, Mate or Master Certificate of Competency (CoC) will be considered an added advantage
Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays in accordance with operational requirement
