Tata Consultancy Services, Asia Pacific, is seeking a Capital Market - Settlements specialist in Malaysia. Qualifications

  • Experience in FX settlement, money markets, or derivatives settlement
  • Ability to perform second-level checks on settlement instructions and documentation
  • Strong understanding of settlement lifecycle and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with settlement systems and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Execute settlement processing for FX, Money Markets and Derivatives trades in line with SLAs
  • Support day-to-day management of settlement activities including payments and issue resolution
  • Escalate and resolve settlement breaks, payment failures, or reconciliation discrepancies
  • Perform validation and checks on settlement instructions for vanilla and complex trades
  • Manage settlement queues and ensure adherence to regional cut-off times
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Client Services and external counterparties
  • Contribute to management reporting such as KPIs, break volumes and risk indicators
  • Support process improvements, automation and system enhancements across settlements
  • Participate in projects to improve settlement platforms and STP

Role: Capital Market - Settlements.
Location: Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute settlement processing for FX, Money Markets, and Derivatives trades, ensuring timely and accurate completion in line with SLAs.
  • Support day-to-day operational management of settlement activities, including payment processing, exception handling, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of settlement breaks, payment failures, or reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Perform validation and second-level checks on payment instructions and settlement documentation for both vanilla and complex transactions.
  • Manage and prioritise settlement queues, ensuring optimal turnaround and adherence to cut-off timelines across regions.
  • Assist in workload allocation across the team to optimise capacity utilisation and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Build effective working relationships with Front Office, Middle Office, Client Services, and external counterparties to support seamless settlement execution.
  • Contribute to management reporting, including settlement KPIs, break volumes, ageing, and risk indicators.
  • Support implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements across settlement processes.
  • Participate in project initiatives to enhance settlement platforms, data integrity, and straight-through processing (STP).
  • Processes
  • Execute settlement activities including payment processing, funding, and confirmations of settlement completion in line with defined procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to Department Operating Instructions (DOI) and maintain updates for process and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain structured tracking of settlement status, including break identification, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, audit trail, and record keeping across all settlement activities.
  • Adhere to maker-checker controls and verification standards to minimise operational errors and duplicate payments.
  • Monitor settlement KPIs and contribute to corrective actions to address process inefficiencies or control gaps.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual intervention and enhance STP.
  • Good understanding of FX, Money Markets, and Derivatives settlement lifecycle, including payment flows and reconciliations.
  • Hands-on experience with settlement systems and platforms (e.g., Murex, SWIFT, Nostro systems).
  • Ability to operate in high-volume, time-critical environments with strong prioritisation discipline aligned to market cut-offs.
  • Strong analytical capability to investigate settlement breaks, reconciliation issues, and payment discrepancies.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong control mindset to minimise operational risk.
  • Technologically adept, with ability to leverage digital tools, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Ability to support automation, digitisation, and process efficiency initiatives.

  • Develop product, process, and system expertise across FX and Derivatives settlement activities.

  • Maintain strong awareness of regulatory requirements (e.g., settlement reporting obligations and control standards).
  • Support audit activities through accurate documentation, evidence provision, and issue remediation tracking.
  • Reinforce control discipline, including validation of settlement instructions and adherence to approval thresholds.

  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and settlement control frameworks.
  • Maintain audit readiness through accurate documentation, evidencing, and adherence to defined controls.
  • Support governance reporting through provision of settlement metrics, risk indicators, and exception tracking.
  • Support timely closure of audit findings and control gaps.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements across settlement processing.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and accuracy standards for settlement-related activities and reporting.
