Job summary

BID Operations in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a proactive Settlement Officer to manage daily settlement activities, reconcile accounts, and support payment processing with third-party providers. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and willingness to work shift hours.

You will coordinate with PSPs, banks, finance and support teams, maintain records, and help improve operational workflows while handling sensitive financial information with integrity and discretion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in settlement or payment operations.
• Experience with deposits, reconciliations and PSP operations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data.
• Able to work under pressure and during shift hours.
• Fluent in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
• Honest, careful, organized and able to handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and process client deposits and withdrawals timely and accurately.
• Follow up on pending or failed settlement transactions with internal teams and PSPs.
• Perform daily reconciliation across CRM records, PSP portals, banks and reports.
• Track PSP balances and flag potential funding issues or abnormal movements.
• Support settlement execution across multiple payment methods.
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
• Communicate with PSPs, banks, finance, compliance and customer support as needed.
• Maintain accurate settlement records, reports and documentation.
• Assist with PSP onboarding, testing and workflow improvements.
• Support weekend and holiday coverage as rostered.
• Escalate high-risk cases per SOPs and ensure confidentiality.

About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Settlement Officer to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the efficient execution of daily settlement activities, accurate reconciliation of accounts, and maintenance of financial records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting payment processing with third-party providers, responding to customer cases, and preparing transaction remittances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and process client deposits and withdrawals in a timely and accurate manner.
• Follow up on pending, delayed, rejected, or failed settlement transactions with internal teams and external PSPs.
• Perform daily reconciliation across CRM records, PSP portals, bank statements, digital wallet platforms, and internal settlement reports.
• Track PSP balances and elevate any potential funding shortages or abnormal balance movements.
• Support settlement execution across multiple payment methods, including fiat, e-wallets, bank transfers, local payment channels, and digital payment methods.
• Identify transaction discrepancies, investigate root causes, and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Communicate with PSPs, banks, internal operations, finance, compliance, and customer support teams when required.
• Maintain accurate settlement records, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with PSP onboarding, testing, transaction monitoring, and operational workflow improvement.
• Support weekend, public holiday, and extended-hour coverage based on roster requirements.
• Escalate high-risk or abnormal settlement cases according to internal SOPs.
• Ensure all settlement activities are handled with accuracy, confidentiality, and proper risk control.
  

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in settlement operations, payment operations, finance operations, banking operations, PSP operations, or a similar role.
• Experience in handling deposits, withdrawals, reconciliation, payment channels, or client fund operations is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling transaction data and financial records.
• Good sense of responsibility, accountability, and risk awareness, especially when dealing with client funds.
• Able to work under pressure and respond quickly to urgent settlement issues.
• Willing to support shift work, extended-hour coverage, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams and external payment partners.
• Basic Excel or Google Sheets skills are required; experience with reporting, reconciliation files, or dashboards is a plus.
• Able to follow SOPs carefully while also identifying process gaps or improvement opportunities.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills such as Chinese, Japanese, or other regional languages would be an advantage.
• Honest, careful, organized, and able to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
• Candidates with experience in fintech, payment service providers, or financial services operations will be preferred.
