Job summary

Soft Space is seeking a Treasury & Settlement Operations Executive/Manager to oversee daily settlement flows, liquidity positions, and treasury controls. You will collaborate with Finance, Operations, Product and Tech teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize funding strategies.

Key responsibilities include settlement operations across channels, cash and liquidity monitoring, and comprehensive reporting to management, ensuring timely, accurate settlements and strong control environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in treasury, settlement operations, banking operations, payment operations, or reconciliation.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, acquiring, e-wallets, banking, or payment processing is strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of settlement cycles, bank reconciliation, prefunding, merchant settlements, and liquidity management.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily settlement activities across acquiring, issuing, wallet, and other payment channels.
  • Reconcile expected settlement inflows against actual funds received and investigate discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor failed, delayed, withheld, or outstanding settlements, including reserves, chargebacks, and other deductions.
  • Work with internal teams, banks, payment schemes, and processing partners to resolve settlement breaks and support new settlement arrangements.
  • Prepare and monitor the company’s daily cash and liquidity position, including short-term funding requirements.
  • Coordinate prefunding, interbank transfers, and movement of funds across operational and settlement accounts.
  • Monitor account balances, liquidity exposure, foreign currency requirements, and segregation of company and restricted funds.
  • Perform and review daily bank-to-system, processor-to-bank, and settlement ledger reconciliations.
  • Ensure reconciling items are investigated and resolved within agreed timelines, with complete supporting documentation and audit trails.
  • Maintain strong treasury controls and support improvements in reconciliation automation, exception reporting, and operational processes.
  • Prepare daily treasury and settlement reporting covering inflows, outflows, outstanding items, bank balances, liquidity, and key operational risks.
  • Escalate material settlement discrepancies, funding shortfalls, and operational incidents promptly.
  • Provide management with analysis of settlement trends, cash utilisation, banking costs, and operational exposures.

Job description

The Treasury & Settlement Operations Executive / Manager is responsible for managing the company’s daily settlement flows, liquidity position, bank balances and operational treasury controls.

The role will ensure that all funds expected from banks, payment schemes and processing partners are received, reconciled and settled accurately and on time. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, Product and Technology teams to investigate settlement discrepancies, manage funding requirements and strengthen controls over client and company funds.

Key Responsibilities
1) Settlement Operations
  • Manage daily settlement activities across acquiring, issuing, wallet, and other payment channels.
  • Reconcile expected settlement inflows against actual funds received and investigate discrepancies promptly.
