Job summary

KL Analytical Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a capable Technical Manager to lead on-site calibration, review calibration procedures, and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and SAMM requirements. You will establish measurement traceability, evaluate uncertainties, manage calibration schedules and records, provide training, and liaise with customers and auditors to uphold quality.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and hands-on calibration expertise across laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in science/engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years in calibration, testing lab, or technical role in equipment service.
• Preferably 2 years in managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Experience implementing ISO/IEC 17025 and SAMM QMS.
• Experience evaluating measurement uncertainties in calibration procedures.
• Experience with universal testing machines is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site calibration and adjustment of customer equipment in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
• Develop, review and implement calibration procedures and SOPs in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
• Act as Technical Manager, ensuring technical validity of results and overall compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and SAMM requirements.
• Establish and maintain measurement traceability, including proper use of reference standards.
• Evaluate measurement uncertainty and support method validation activities.
• Manage equipment calibration schedules, maintenance and laboratory records.
• Support internal and external audits, and handle non-conformities with corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
• Liaise with customers and auditors on technical and quality-related matters.
• Support laboratory setup, method development and expansion of calibration scope where required.

• Preferably a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge and experience of implementing ISO/IEC 17025 and SAMM QMS.
• Knowledge of evaluation of measurement uncertainties on calibration procedures.
• Experience in using, servicing or calibrating universal testing machine is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
