Job summary

Private Advertiser, Georgetown, Penang, is seeking a dedicated Supervisor for our Matcha & Coffee Cafe to lead daily operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You will oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance, ensure product quality of matcha and coffee, manage cash and stock, and drive promotions to boost sales while upholding food safety standards. Weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year supervisory or team leadership experience in hospitality or cafe
• Strong knowledge of coffee and matcha preparation
• Ability to lead and mentor staff in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent customer service mindset
• Cash handling and POS competency
• Basic bookkeeping understanding
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Food safety and hygiene awareness
• Effective communication and teamwork
• Willingness to work weekends/public holidays

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and stock rotation
• Supervise and manage cafe staff, including scheduling, training, performance monitoring, and staff development
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality matcha and coffee beverages in line with our brand standards
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all areas of the cafe, in compliance with food safety regulations
• Monitor customer satisfaction levels and respond promptly to customer feedback and complaints
• Handle cash management, process transactions accurately, and reconcile daily takings
• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate deliveries to ensure product availability
• Implement promotional activities and special offers to drive customer engagement and sales
• Maintain detailed records of daily operations, sales performance, and staff attendance
• Support the management team in achieving sales targets and improving operational efficiency

About the role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Supervisor for our Matcha & Coffee Cafe based on Georgetown, Penang. As Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality across our cafe offerings. What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience in a hospitality, cafe, or food and beverage setting
• Strong knowledge of coffee and matcha preparation, specialty beverages, and cafe operations
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences
• Competency in cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and basic bookkeeping
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
• Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and management
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required
• Relevant hospitality or food service qualifications (preferred but not essential)
