Job summary

Effective Bond Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced cafe operations lead in Kuala Lumpur to supervise daily café activities, ensure SOP compliance, and drive service quality. You will coordinate shifts, monitor performance, and manage stock, while maintaining guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting know-how, and a focus on safety and hygiene, with a hands-on approach to daily operations and team development.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Diploma; certificate or diploma in F&B, hospitality or business management is an advantage
• 2-4 years of experience in cafe/restaurant supervision or management
• At least 1 year in a leadership or team-lead capacity
• Experience with budgeting and cost control is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety practices
• Competent with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced cafe environment
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• Clear communication and conflict-resolution ability
• Sound judgment and decision-making under pressure
• Good organizational and multitasking skills
• Customer-first mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily café operations and service flow
• Ensure staff follow SOPs, hygiene standards and service procedures
• Handle opening and closing duties when required
• Support cross-station and cross-outlet operations when required by business needs
• Coordinate staff assignments, performance monitoring and operational reporting
• Oversee staff scheduling, attendance monitoring and shift coordination
• Support on-the-job training and knowledge transfer for crew and supervisors
• Monitor staff performance and address issues as they arise
• Handle customer feedback, complaints and service recovery professionally
• Ensure consistent service quality and a positive customer experience
• Manage stock ordering, stock checks and inventory control
• Monitor wastage and support cost control measures
• Oversee POS operations and cash handling procedures
• Manage daily sales reports and cash reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
• Conduct checks on cleanliness and equipment condition
• Lead by example with professional conduct and teamwork
• Follow and uphold company policies and support management decisions
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management
