Job summary

Tune Protect Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a hands-on Business Intelligence Analyst to own reporting and analytics within the Insurance/Financial Services sectors.

You'll design dashboards with Power BI and SAP Business Objects, optimize SQL queries, support regulatory reporting, and collaborate with Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance to deliver accurate data insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
• 1–4 years of relevant experience as a BI Analyst / Data Analyst in Insurance, Banking, or Financial Institutions.
• Experience handling regulatory reporting or working in a regulated environment (e.g., BNM reporting).
• Experience working with structured data in enterprise data warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and SAP Business Objects.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries (SQL Server / MySQL) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Support regulatory and management reporting, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and audit traceability.
• Work closely with stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Operations, Compliance) to translate business requirements into data solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on data modelling, ETL processes (SSIS), and workflow orchestration (Airflow).
• Ensure proper data validation, reconciliation, and documentation for reporting processes.
• Automate recurring reports and improve existing BI processes for efficiency and scalability.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights to support business and strategic decisions.
• Prepare clear technical and functional documentation for developed solution.

Strong Understanding Of

• Data warehousing concepts (star schema, fact/dimension modelling)

• Basic scripting knowledge (Python) is an added advantage.
